As some of you will know I am in Canada at the moment and have been staying at Rideau Lakes, Elgin, Ontario. It is a really beautiful part of the country with this great trail called the Cataraqui Trail a 104 km route along an old railway track and part of the trans-Canada trail.Here is a picture of what I had to do to protect me from the biting insects and it has taken me 3 days to get over some of them.(click the picture to enlarge)

I don't miss bugs, that's for sure. We used to live in upstate NY and then MA and I could not wait till September so we could hike without massive amounts of bug spray.
